This weekend several friends and I went Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear" in DC. You can see my pictures on my Examiner post:

Then we came home and got dressed to have THE GREATEST HALLOWEEN EVER!
We started off with drinks at Christina's cafe, where we rocked the house with our out-of-this-world face paint and costumery. Then we headed into the sticks to see 10 bands play in a 120 year old barn. Revelers were camping in the hills, and everyone BYOB-ed right out of the back of their pick-up trucks. Luckily we had a couple dogs and a truck, as well as a little brew of our own, to provide.
The bands were hardcore, happy core, and a lot of noise in general. Jake was a little wary at first but once he started to dance, he really enjoyed himself. There was a black room with fluorescent paint and he had the whole thing to himself for a while. He popped a lot of balloons, and had a blast in general. Of course everyone loved him.
My friends and I were pretty serene as well. I didn't start back flipping until the end. There's footage of me scaring a man off the dance floor when I tried to bite his face off at some point. There's also a rockin' picture of Terra with distorted ghost face about to bite Kat's neck. We did our best to make it a night from hell. Now that I think about though, there weren't very many other people dressed up. Unless they were just dressed as hicks.
I met the owners of the place and they were very nice. One is a music producer and I got a couple sample CDs. I'm amazed at the level of talent that's hiding out there in the hills of Shenandoah.
That reminds me. Terra and Trevor took me to a haunted house in Winchester, which was AWESOME. Very fun; and I laughed a lot in a nervous "Oh my god, I'm kind of a girl but this is creepy" sort of way.
Really super Halloween. Thanks for the good times guys.
